Connected adult products can introduce privacy questions that do not exist with a physical remote. The goal is not to avoid apps entirely; it is to know what data and permissions are involved before you connect a personal device.
Check what the app asks for
Review phone permissions during installation. Bluetooth access may be necessary for pairing, but location, contacts, microphone or photo access should have a clear reason. Modern phone settings let you review and revoke permissions later.
Understand the account model
Some apps work without a permanent account; others require email registration. Check whether you can delete the account and associated data from within the app or through the company’s privacy process.
Partner control should be revocable
Long-distance features often use invitations, links or partner accounts. You should be able to end access without relying on the other person. If the app does not explain this clearly, treat that as a reason to research further.
Use unique passwords
Do not reuse a password from email, banking or social media. If the app offers multi-factor authentication, consider enabling it.
Think about notifications and lock-screen privacy
App names and notifications can appear on lock screens or shared devices. Review notification settings if discretion matters.
For shopping privacy beyond apps, see Private Adult Shopping Online.
We prioritize fit, material clarity, ease of cleaning, privacy, warranty and useful features. Partner relationships do not change our basic evaluation criteria.
